GAME PLAY

Goal; In Kingdomino Origins you win by scoring the most points in your habitats at the end of the game. Kingdominio Origins has three different game plays, increasing in difficulty.

How to play?

๐Ÿ„  The first (1) variant is the family modus, suitable for children from 8 years old. In this variant each player creates a square around the starting tyle, with the hut on it. With four players you create a 5×5 square, with two players a 7×7 square. At the beginning of a round you place four domino tiles open on the table. All the tiles are numbered on the back, and you place the tiles random from low to high numbers. The first player choses a tile and clockwise the other players chose next. When you play with two players, each player chooses two tiles. Next, the next four tiles are revealed.

The player with the meeple on the first tile starts by placing the tile in the square according to the rules of domino. Next, the player chooses the tile for the next round by placing his meeple on it.

There are tiles with volcanoes. A volcano spews lava that creates a fire in your area. Each area with fire score points.

The game is finished when all the tiles are placed. If you cannot place a tile you discard the tile, but this costs points at the end of the game.

When the game is finished, the points are scored. Each area with fire scores points. You count the number of tiles and multiply it with the number of fire in that area.

If you want, you can also score points if your hut is exactly in the middle of the square and when the square is completely filled up.

๐Ÿ„  The second variant is getting a bit more complex. Some tiles have resource picture on it. If you place this tile, you place the matching resource on the tile. Each resource scores one point at the end of the game. The player with the most resources of a kind at the end of the game scores extra points.

Be aware: a fire token destroys a resource token

๐Ÿ„  The third variant is the most complex. Aside from the areas with fire and the resources, you can also score points by adding a chief to your area. You can do this by creating the right circumstances (resources) for the chief. The more complex the required resources, the higher the points you score for your chief.

๐Ÿ’ก OUR OPINION

We enjoy this game very much. The three variants create both a fun family game (even for kids from age 6 and up!) as a more strategic game with adults.

The gameplay is very smooth and because you choose your next tile, the start player differs every round which makes the game varied and balanced.

And, we found this aspect important, the quality of the materials and the artwork is very high. The tiles are firm and the resources look amazing.

Kingdomino Origins is a fun family game, that can also be played with adults.

The two-player experience is very good! We recommend it.
