Gameplay
Disasters are happening all over the world, and you are on a plane and flying around the world to save cities from disaster. The game takes place in a plane with different zones. You have the cargo zone, waste zone, different production zones and the headquarters.
You play this game cooperatively, real time. The goal is to free all cities from the disasters that precede them before the time runs out. You do this by collecting the necessary resources in the plane. On your turn, you roll your dice and your roll allows you to do three things. You can move through the plane (1 die per space), move the plane to adjacent cities, or produce goods.
You play as long as the hourglass is running, and have you saved a city? Then you get an extra hourglass to complete the missions.
Review
We have been fans of Pandemic for years. Rising Tide was our first cooperative game we played, and Legacy 1 is one of our all-time favourite games. We were therefore very curious about this fast variant, and we were positively surprised.
While the idea of saving cities from a pandemic is the same as in the other variants, it played out quite differently. Because you play under time pressure, you have much less time to think through your actions and to consult with each other. This gives a completely different dynamics and gaming experience.
If you are a fan of cooperative games and are looking for a fast, real time game, and if you like a chaotic and slightly stressful game experience, this is definitely recommended. We became blood fanatics
